Today, we spent the entire day removing the tomato plants. Johnston and I loaded dried plants on carts, carried to the compost, and repeated that for six hours just to remove about quarter of the plant remains. Which means we will have to spend at least three more days just to remove the plants, which is a huge waste of labor and space (opportunity cost for the unused land is expensive). We need to think up a better procedure for plant removal in Asia.
For the unused rows, we capped the pipe that carried water in order to save hydro.
If tomatoes take this much effort to remove, I can only imagine how tough it is to remove the cucumbers because of their thorns...
